Twitter now lets any user filter out threats and abuse

Twitter is now offering some of its most critical anti-harassment tools to every user and not just those with blue checkmarks next to their name. Now, users will be able to filter notifications by only those whom they follow. This effectively removes any tweets from random strangers and those who use Twitter to abuse or harass. A second change is the expanded availability of Twitter's quality filter. The feature aims to "improve the quality of Tweets you see by using a variety of signals, such as account origin and behavior," the company wrote in a blog post.
